Gulmohur Chronicles 12th Edition

My dear students,

Here we are in the glorious month of December. It is the 12th and the final month of the year. Do you know children that this month got its name as ‘December’ from the Latin word decem meaning ten because it was originally the tenth month of the year
of the early Roman calendar.

This month we focussed on the festival of Christmas, which commemorates the birth
of Lord Jesus Christ.

“The magic of Christmas never ends and its greatest of gifts are family and friends.”

Christmas is celebrated every year on December 25. The festival marks the celebration of the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is worshipped as the Messiah of God in Christian Mythology. Hence, his birthday is one of the most joyous ceremonies
amongst Christians. Although the festival is mainly celebrated by the followers of Christianity, it is one of the most enjoyed festivals all over the globe. Christmas symbolizes merriment and love. It is celebrated with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm by everyone, no matter what religion they follow. It is the essence of this festival that unites the people.

The birth of Jesus comes as a ray of hope and marks the beginning of a journey towards enlightenment. Christmas is all about decorating Christmas trees, eating with families and friends, and having lots of fun. There are special prayers held in the churches on
the occasion of Christmas. The core values of sharing and caring are instilled in children from the beginning, and they learn to have a deep sense of moral values.

Christmas is all about sharing gifts and spreading love and togetherness all over the world. We are going through a very uncertain time as a global community, dear children. Only patience and perseverance will take us through.

I wish all of you good health and happiness.

Au revoir!
Yours lovingly,
Gulmohur High School
