Gulmohur Chronicles 8th Edition

My dear children,
Here we are in the month of August. The eighth month of the calendar, August holds a special place in our hearts. Several festivals and important days fall in the month of August including Independence Day, Onam, RakshaBandhan, Janmashtami, World Photography Day, World Humanitarian Day and many more. Do you know children the month of August is named after Augustus Caesar, the founder and first emperor of the Roman Empire.

This month we focused on the 75th Independence Day to recall the struggle for independence, express our heartfelt gratitude to our armed forces because of which we peacefully enjoy our lives and pledge to proceed in the path of progress towards a brighter future. On this day, India commemorates its independence on the 15th of August every year. It is a grand occasion calling for impressive celebrations throughout the country that inspires sentiments of nationalism and patriotism. India seems to be brightly painted in the three primary colours of its national flag on its Independence Day 2021.

So let’s pay our homage and honour to the freedom fighters, and to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our freedom and still continuing to do so. There was an annual English elocution for the students of classes 6 to 12 and Hindi pen Penmanship contest for classes LKG to 5 held this month. I would like to congratulate the winners of the event.

Make sure to check the ‘Student’s Spotlight’ section this month where three best articles provided by the students have been selected from the previous edition. Don’t forget to check the newly added columns about the Indian Armed Forces, its history and its present, and India’s military capabilities.

Dear children, we are going through a very uncertain time as a global community. Only patience and perseverance will take us through.

I wish all of you good health and happiness.

Au revoir!

Yours lovingly,
Gulmohur High School
