Gulmohur High School hosted its 48th Annual Sports Day on 9th December 2022. The Chief Guest was Ms.Purnima Mahato (Dronacharya Awardee, Archery Coach Tata Steel) , the Guest of Honour was Mr. Manish Verma (General Manager, BIW Factory – TMCV), who is also an alumnus of GHS.
Highlights of the event included recognizing and awarding the students who brought laurels for the school at the National level in sports:
Tiyasha Pangiyara- She represented Jharkhand and Bihar State in the CISCE National Yoga championship in under 17 girls at Ranchi in September. She won the silver medal in group and holistic yoga and was declared the best in Yogasana. Tiyasha is selected to represent the CISCE Council Yoga team for the SGFI games.
Arpana Raj – She represented Jhankhand and Bihar State in the CISCE National Taekwondo Championship held at Ahmedabad and won a silver medal.
Harshita – She represented Jharkhand and Bihar State in the CISCE National Taekwondo championship held at Ahmedabad and won a silver medal.
Roshan Kumar – He represented the Jharkhand Bihar State in the CISCE National Basketball championship held at Tamil Nadu and won a bronze medal.
SarthakTiwary – He won a gold medal in the CISCE National Cricket Championship held at Lucknow.
The Sports Day included drill performances by Primary students (1-5) on the theme ‘Happiness’ and by Upper Primary students (6-8) on the theme ‘ Yoga – a cultural pride of India’. Students also participated in several track and field events.
All the winners were awarded with medals and certificates. The entire event was well organised by the experienced Games teachers Ekbal Singh, Sangeeta Herenz and Seema Kewal.
